Thanks to Edwin of P&G, I had the opportunity to do an SKII skin consultation on Friday. It was the first time I've done a skin consultation, and it was pretty enlightening. I think I've been blessed with pretty decent skin *KNOCK ON WOOD I'LL GET A PIMPLE FOR SAY All that being said, I'm no longer in my 20s, and I believe that prevention is important, so the skin consultation helped me find out what I needed to work on. The good thing about my skin - it's got great elasticity (read: padded cheeks). The not so good thing - low sebum/moisture on my cheeks, some fine laugh lines, and the thing that has been bugging me SUN SPOTS! Black spots on my face from all the time I spend under the sun. It's not super obvious cuz I'm tan, but still...it's visible (see picture below): So according to my skin consultant Fion, my skincare regime - sunblock in the day, makeup remover + cleanser + moisturizer at night doesn't cut it. She then went on to give me a full list of what I need to do. She also told me I can slowly remove my dark spots using some SKII products. And so I'll try their products out soon. Hopefully it'll work in diminishing them darn sun spots and some. Out, damned spot! out, I say!—One: two: why, then ’tis time to do ’t.—Hell is murky! ~ Lady Mcbeth Tags: girlie |

The recent CK party was held at the defunct Queenstown Prison. It was nicely set-up. They painted the walls all white, fixed in video installations in the cells downstairs (so you could look through an acryllic door and in each room was a short video clip of the CK models). The DJ console was in the guardhouse (you know in the high tower like in Prison Break), the models, in typical CK style, were asked to stand on platforms for a few hrs so people could view the clothes (kinda evil I feel, one of them apparently fainted). Toilets were lush, not portaloos but airconditioned crates with proper cubicles and basins. And then there was the free flow of Moet. The only bad thing was the heat. There were a/cs, but the place was still generally warm. Overall, the event was nicely executed and I think the venue was really interesting! Can't imagine being stuck in the cell though. Kinda depressing and claustrophobic. Some photos taken (everything's so white n bright): ![]() Fahbeng & Eeling ![]() Ben & me ![]() The Banelettis ![]() Gay bud Hugh |

We had an early birthday dinner for Hua last night. Biyi, Hua, Char and I. I'm not sure if she knew it was her b'day dinner or if it was just a regular girlie dinner. Anyhow, we ordered loads of food at Sushi Tei and had funny convos about nudity etc. After the food was cleared we surprise her with a b'day cake, which I added just for laughs, Jay Chou's name on, because 2 years ago at his concert, we realize they share the exact same birthday. Hua (to Char): Do you know, we have the EXACT same birthday? Char: Wow. Same birthday but such different lives! There's JAY CHOU and there's Huihua Haha. We proceeded to PS Cafe for a bottle of wine next before heading home. Next up. Biyi's b'day. Our group is getting smaller with Jill, Issy & Mei not here. :P TGIF everyone. ![]() Birthday girl looking radiant in her Kelly Green top ![]() ![]() Cracking up over... ![]() ....this ![]() Happy Birthday Huahua! |

I'm listening to Jason Mraz's verson of Etta Jame's At Last, one of my favorite old time classics. Now that Mraz has stopped touring and is recording his new album, he has the time to blog and tweet, which I appreciate. I sound like such a groupie, but you know, he's got such a great voice, and not only that, he writes well and supports great causes. If you're a fan or like reading interesting blogs, check him out here. Well, at least the last 2 entries. B and I both did, and we have both resolved to a) start eating more natural/organic foods b) treat the Earth better. We're not gonna turn into crazy raw foods hippies overnight, I know for sure B will still crave for his cheap processed McD's fast food. Me, I'll have my own unhealthy weaknesses. But, if you've read or watched documentaries such as Food Inc, you'll know just how harmful processed foods are and how we consume so much food that really aren't beneficial for us and may even cause cancer and other diseases. Not to mention the lack of energy. B and I are concern about that too and we think the step towards organic/natural foods is the way. So we're starting with baby steps, organic food is expensive here, so it's hard to eat it all the time, but we're gonna make our breakfast an organic one. We both bought natural muesli/oats, and I'm going back to Pacific Soy milk (which I used to enjoy in NY). It's not gonna be as tasty as chwee kweh or fried noodles. But, whatever's good for the body. As for the other meals, we'll try our best to eat natural when we can. The other option will be healthy Japanese meals. As for the Earth, come tomorrow, I'll start making it a point to recycle. It's not in my habit to do so, but i'll start 2010. Onto more 'selfish' personal resolutions, many I'm sure are repeats from the start of 2009: 1) NO MORE HANGOVERS 2) NO more unnecessary fines/ late charges 3) Save more $ 4) less whinging (I'm totally guilty of that) 5) Work A LOT harder 6) Sleep earlier/wake up earlier That's all for now. 8 simple resolutions for me to keep to. And with that, here's wishing everyone Happy New Year's Eve and 2010!!! xoxo |

Your official pacers for the Singapore half and full marathons and I'm proud to be one of them! I tell ya...last Sunday I woke up at 6am in the morning to attend my first pacer run (because I was training for the NY marathon before) and I thought to myself, OMG why am I doing this so soon after running a full marathon?!?!?! I'm running a 21km today, am I crazy? But once I got there, I was greeted by familiar faces, ones I've gotten to know through numerous Nike runs. I was introduced to the 2 other 2hr30min 21km pacers and at 7am, together with our pacees, we set off. There weren't many pacees with us at the training run, just 3. But I tell ya...there's something about having to help another runner get through their race and achieve their target. With yourself, it's easy to just say 'ah, Ee-Lyn, let's slow down a little" but then being a pacer, I have to run at a constant pace no matter. 2hr30min finish time is the aim of the game! Not like 2hr30min is very fast at all. It's a comfy pace for me, so that's all good. But still, keeping it constant is not 100% easy. At the end of the 21km training run Sally, whom Angela and I was helping pace came up to me and thanked me for helping her achieve her target time. It felt good. I'm sure come 6th December the feeling will be even more fulfilling with more pacees (hopefully) running with us. Until then, call me sadistic, but I look forward to my 18km pacer run again this Saturday at 6.45pm :) |

Spent a day in Dubai enroute to NYC. Ben and I really liked the city. Went to Wild Wadi Water Park which was really fun. Of course, it was like a kid in a candy shop for him. Me...I had fun too, especially body boarding on the wave rider thingy. The super long slide was a bit scary to begin cuz it starts off 50m above ground, and aside from the drops which made my stomach jump I had a fear of falling off the sides. But then once I was on it it was all a blur and I reached the bottom in no time. And then there was the uphill water ride which was really interesting, not the least bit scary, just enjoyable. Seeing the Burj and the tallest building in the world was really awesome! Here are some pictures I took: The scary long slide Highest structure in the world...from very far (the skinny one) More to come on NYC! Tags: camerabag |

Last Sunday I completed the Army Half Marathon in 2hr15min. Not my best time, but decent, considering I felt strong at the end and felt no aches on my legs the next day. I need to learn how to pace myself properly - I blew up on my last 2 races (10km and 21km) because I ran too fast at the start, and this time around, I definitely had more energy left in the tank to go faster. Now to find some kind of middle ground. Anyhow, that's a average 6.40min pace, and from how I felt at the end of it, I'm certain I could've held on for longer. Based on that, and allowing some fade, I think I shall target a 4hr45min marathon come November. I have to say the AHM is the best local race I've taken part in to date. It was really well organized, there were drink stations located every 2km, and not just a small booth but long tables filled with water and isotonic drinks. The parts that weren't lit along ECP were illuminated by light sticks. I imagine it looked a little trippy (imagine cuz I've never tripped) because all I could see were lightsticks and runners' heads bopping up and down, the sound of their shuffles audible despite my ipod. And then there were the supporters, organized by different army units - Belly dancers! Transformer like robots! Drummers! Guys on stilts (a 50-something runner slapped the guys on stilts hands as like the pros do at the finish line and it made me laugh)! Men with tiger masks! (ok, this actually scared me a bit. Good thing the sun was out by then). Speaking of sun - despite the unearthly wake up time of 3.30am, starting at 5.30am is great because you miss most of the sun's heat and enjoy running from dark to light. It's definitely a race I think I'll do again next year. And my cousin Felix will have to too (cuz of NS)! He WALKED 10km this year - took him 1hr57min. My uncle (who is an avid runner) and I gave him a hard time about that while the rest of the family scolded us for not being supportive. It's not that we aren't. We are! But we knew 1hr57min meant a slowww 10km walk! Anyhow. The results:
